Recruitment
DarajaJobs
Tanzania's national job exchange, built bilingual and mobile-first so it works on the phones people actually own.

About the project
A two-sided job marketplace for Tanzania and Kenya. Workers register and are matched to jobs rather than browsing for them; employers post roles and pay per post. The interface runs in Swahili and English side by side, and the whole layout is built as a single narrow column so it holds together on low-end Android as well as desktop. A USSD route lets people reach the service from feature phones, which is what makes it usable outside the cities. Pricing is deliberately small and per-action - a registration fee, a per-application fee, a per-post fee - rather than a subscription, because that is what the market can carry.
